If you own a Kubota BX and using the Compact PTO Link® system…you need to watch this video! (Kubota BX users are REQUIRED to use this replacement plate when using the PTO Link® Compact system)
Video Script: If you own a Kubota BX tractor and installing the PTO Link Compact system – you’ll NEED TO WATCH this video!
Thank you for purchasing the replacement Lift Arm Stabilizer Plate Kit. This part is NECESSARY when using our PTO Link Compact system on your BX tractor. The BX series tractor is the only tractor needing this part!
This REPLACEMENT plate kit retains all of the functionality of the original Kubota part, but shortens its overall length to avoid making any direct contact with the PTO Link system when the lift arm hydraulics are in full-lift position.
You’ll notice here, the edge of the original Kubota part makes contact with the edge of the PTO Link system.
Because of this, we URGE all customers using the Kubota BX tractor to install this replacement plate to avoid damage to your PTO shaft, driveline and the PTO Link system.
To change out your original BX Stabilizer Plate with the new PTO Link Compact Stabilizer Plate,
you will need 2 basic tools—
needle nose pliers and an adjustable wrench.
The BX replacement plate kit comes with 2 cotter pins to replace your old ones.
You’ll also notice in this video, both the Compact system and BX replacement plate were filmed with our prototypes,
AND before we had the current labels.
Let’s get started with these few easy steps: (Remember to retain all hardware, except the 2 used cotter pins)
• Loosen both tension arm turnbuckles with the wrench, to create adequate plate-slack,
so you can freely move the plate.
(DO NOT disconnect the turnbuckles from the plate yet)
• Remove the Hitch Pin from the “keeper pin” (located at the top center of the plate)
• Press down on the center “keeper pin” with your finger. Now that the hitch pin has been removed, it will fall out through the bottom.
• Allow the loosened plate to swing downward, so the back can “unhook” from the bar, which holds the plate and lift arms.
• Lay the stabilizer plate on the ground (while still attached to the turnbuckles) with the cotter pins and the bent area facing up (your labeled side of the plate will be facing toward the ground)
• Bend the ends of the cotter pin with pliers and remove them from each side.
(You may discard these used cotter pins)
• Remove the original stabilizer plate (noticing how it is positioned on the ground)
• Lay the New BX stabilizer plate in the same position as the original plate (with labels facing down)
• Reattach the new plate using the 2 new cotter pins and the original turnbuckle hardware.
• Swing the plate back up and hook it on the bar from which the original plate was removed.
Note: the swing arms may need to be pushed to either side to make room for the plate.
• Reattach the center “keeper pin” from the bottom (this holds the plate onto the bar)
• Reattach the Hitch pin into the Center Pin.
• The last step is to Tighten the turnbuckles for proper tension for the lift arms.
• Congratulations… YOU’RE ALL DONE!
Now that you have successfully changed out the old stabilizer plate, the new BX replacement plate doesn’t come into contact with the edge of the PTO Link system.
Here’s what it looked like before …
and now, with the new plate installed.
Nothing is touching and you can bring your lift arms all the way to the top!
Thank you for changing out this plate!
Now you can enjoy using the Quick-Connecting features of the Compact system and the safety of the replacement Lift-Arm Stabilizer plate,
which is needed ONLY for the Kubota BX tractors.
