PTO Sling™

£89.99

The PTO Sling™ is an apparatus to hoist and support the weight of the implement driveline (PTO shaft) while attaching the driveline receiver to the tractor’s rear PTO spline, making the PTO connections easier, quicker and safer. This hoisting apparatus consists of three sections of 2″ strap (polyester webbing), J hooks, connecting hook plates, cam buckles, a center sliding cradle and HDPE stiffening boards and other integrated hardware.

The PTO Sling™ safely relieves the tractor operator’s usual need to hold and support a heavy implement shaft during the typical PTO connection process, which often requires manually lifting the driveline (as heavy as 100+ lbs.) and stooping or crouching at awkward angles while reaching for the PTO housing area for connection.

The PTO Sling™ by design uses the leverage points of both the tractor’s 3-point hitch and hydraulic system to achieve the lift and support needed during operation.

NOTICE: All PTO Link Systems add 127 mm to your driveline . See description tab below for more details. In rare situations, the PTO Link® System may not be compatible with your tractor and implement setup.

The PTO Sling™ is an apparatus designed to hoist and support the weight of the implement driveline (PTO shaft) while attaching the driveline receiver to the tractor’s rear PTO spline. This makes PTO connections easier, quicker, and safer. The hoisting apparatus consists of three sections of 50.8 mm polyester webbing strap, J hooks, connecting hook plates, cam buckles, a center sliding cradle, HDPE stiffening boards, and other integrated hardware. The PTO Sling™ relieves the tractor operator from manually holding and supporting a heavy implement shaft (which can weigh 45+ kg) during the connection process. This eliminates the need to stoop or crouch at awkward angles while reaching for the PTO housing area.

The PTO Sling™ leverages the tractor’s 3-point hitch and hydraulic system to lift and support the driveline. To install the PTO Sling™, follow one of these methods:

  1. Horizontal Method (Preferred):

    • Wrap one hook end of the strap around the topside of the tractor’s lift arm and connect the hook to its corresponding suspended hook plate underneath.
    • Pull the slack of the strap taut around the lift arm.
    • Route the center section of the strap (the cradle) under the implement shaft.
    • Repeat the first two steps with the opposite hook end and the other lift arm.
  2. Vertical Method (Alternate):

    • Route the center section of the strap under the bottom of the driveline, centering the cradle’s topside directly onto the underside of the driveline.
    • Extend the two hook ends of the strap around the top link of the 3-point hitch and connect the hooks together into a single hook.
    • Use the pull loops to adjust and remove slack in the strap until the weight of the shaft is hoisted and supported within the center of the cradle.

Once installed, ensure the hooks are secure:

  • For the horizontal method, verify the hooks are secure around each lift arm.
  • For the vertical method, ensure the hooks are securely linked around the hitch’s top link.

To fine-tune the strap’s length and tautness, adjust the pull loops or press the heavy-duty cam buckle levers. This allows you to raise or lower the PTO Sling’s cradle (and the driveline it supports) to the desired connection level of the tractor’s PTO. Use the hydraulic lift as needed to assist in positioning the driveline.

The cradle features an open pouch on its top side with dual pockets on opposite ends. Insert one or more of the three HDPE stiffening boards into the pouch to create the ideal balance of rigidity and flexibility. This keeps the weight of the implement driveline centered in the cradle and minimizes slide friction, allowing the driveline’s outer plastic sheath to slide smoothly toward the PTO housing area.

  • 3 sections of hoisting material (straps) that extend between two lifting hooks (50.8 mm double J hooks on each strap)
  • Hoisting material made of 50.8 mm sturdy polyester webbing
  • Hoisting material maximum length 1,574.8 mm, adjustable down to a minimum length of 685.8 mm using heavy-duty cam buckles and pull loop handles
  • Assembled with UV-resistant, heavy-duty polyester thread
  • Equipped with a moveable, rigid, reduced-friction sliding cradle with insertable stiffening boards to support the weight of the driveline on the hoist material
  • Cradle (304.8 mm x 133.35 mm x 9.53 mm) made of heavy-duty ballistic nylon with a topside open pouch and underside industrial-grade “hook and loop” cross straps
  • 3 HDPE stiffening boards included (273.05 mm x 101.6 mm x 1.59 mm)
  • Simple installation and removal for each hook—no special hardware or installation tools required
  • Limited warranty covers all manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship of the PTO Link strap for one year from the date of purchase
  • US Patent Pending
  • International Patents Pending
  • Dimensions: 355.6 mm (L) x 203.2 mm (W) x 101.6 mm (H)
  • Weight: 1,633 g; Shipping weight: 1,814 g
  • PTO must be OFF at all times while the PTO Sling™ is in use.
  • Do not allow the PTO Sling™ to contact any rotating parts.
  • The PTO Sling™ should only be used for supporting or lifting implement shafts while coupling the shaft to the tractor’s PTO.
  • To safely use the PTO Sling™, insert the hook into the suspended hook plate.
  • Always rest the implement shaft on the plastic sheet inserted in the center of the cradle section of the sling.
  • Completely remove the PTO Sling™ from the tractor and return it to the canvas bag for storage prior to any PTO engagement.
  • Do not wrap the PTO Sling™ around tractor lift arms for stowage or non-use.
  • Not intended for towing or as a pulling device.
  • Do not sit or stand on the PTO Sling™.
  • Do not cut or modify the PTO Sling™ or its stitching.
  • Maximum lifting capacity: 113.4 kg.
